Visualization of a local art gallery.

The scene has been rendered in several passes (See the additional image). I did this because the main pass that uses GI takes quite a while to render so if I wasn't happy about the dust or volumelight pass I could render those passes alone in a matter of minutes. Also it's easiere to adjust in post when you have the elements by themselves.


UPDATE.

Since the creation of the renderings in 2002 I've recreated this scene in realtime using GI with texture baked light in 2004 using 3dsmax and vray 1.09. You can see the result in this page.


Facts

Workstation: Dual P3 667, 512 MB RAM.
Renderslave: Amd 1400, 1 GB RAM.
Programs Used: 3D Studio Max 4.2.6, finalRender stage0 r1.1 Photoshop 6.0 After Effects 5.0
Rendertime: 11 Hours for the still and 11h plus 5minutes per frame for the animation (using reuse)
