Nykredit

These screenshots is from a visualization running real-time using an engine developed by Digital Arts. In addition it's using the new patented full color 3-D Stereo system from ColorCode 3-D™. This production was originally created for a special event at Nykredit (a Danish credit association) in spring 2002.

Nykredit was very excited about the possibility to present their new large headquarter, in the center of Copenhagen, as a Real-time computer model in high quality 3-D Stereo. Nykredit therefore decided to use the new ColorCode 3-D system, which add true depth and perspective in full color to the visual and interactive realism in the Real-time Render. As the only system in the world Digital Arts render back-end supports hardware accelerated ColorCode 3-D encoding, which can run on normal PC equipment using modern 3D hardware. The only accessory required is a specially designed low cost ColorCodeViewer™. This production was made both as a movie and a Real-time Render solution. It was first presented in front of 500 invited VIP customers on a 6 meter wide screen at the Nykredit headquarter. Later on it has been used for a presentation tour through out Denmark.

The 3D

For this project I chose to use Global Illumination for the lighting since this gives a very believable result. In order to use GI for real-time purposes all the lightning have to be baked into textures, this was down using 3dsmax 4.26 and finalRender stage0 v1.4. But to do this ALL the 3d surfaces have to have unique mapping coordinates, this was done using QuickUVW made by Mankua. But before you rush off to buy QuickUVW remember that 3dsmax5 got this automated mapping feature.

Programs Used: 3D Studio Max 4.2.6, finalRender stage0 v1.4, QuickUVW, Photoshop 6.0
